Svätý Kríž is a village in Slovakia, located in the Liptovský Mikuláš District, beneath the Liptovská Mara dam. The village is home to a historically significant building, one of the largest wooden structures in Central Europe. The wooden Lutheran (articular) church was relocated to Svätý Kríž from Paludza between 1974 and 1982.
The church has a cruciform layout and measures 43 meters in length. Its interior can accommodate up to 6,000 visitors. Inside, you will find magnificent wooden Baroque furnishings, including a Baroque altar from 1693 with a painting, and a unique pulpit by the sculptor J. Lerch from Kežmarok, set on a log foundation and adorned with a Baroque angel. A large Venetian glass chandelier is another centerpiece of the interior.
Next to the church stands a separate wooden tower, which serves as the bell tower.
